AC 34 Remote Scoring

From June 13 through June 20, two of Oracle Racing's AC45 catamarans raced on San Francisco Bay with a dual purpose: to generate excitement and good public relations in their hometown, the venue of 2013's Louis Vuitton Cup and America's Cup. They met and perhaps even exceeded that goal. Their second purpose was to develop race committee logistics and test the electronic scoring. They still have some work to do to reach that goal before real racing begins in Cascais on August 6. We spent some time looking over the shoulders of the folks running the races and the scoring computers. Thanks to Lynn Davis for shooting some of the on-the-water footage.
