zyc challengeSeptember 10, 2017 After a postponement to wait for the fleet to assemble in the light air at the X buoy on the San Francisco Cityfront, 14 singlehanders departed for a sail around the Lightship. The North Tower of the Golden Gate Bridge proved a solid barrier for some; others pulled up and parked at Point Bonita or Mile Rock and sloshed around in the windless wave action before calling it a day. In the end, only two skippers, Brian Boschma on the Olson 34 RedSky and Greg Ashby on the Wilderness 30 Nightmare (in that order) made it to the (shortened-course) finish line, aka the Golden Gate Bridge, after dark. Thanks to Nathalie Criou, Brian Boschma and Greg Ashby for contributing some of the images in this gallery.
