Finn Gold Cup September 8, 2010 The Finn Worlds, aka Gold Cup, were raced August 27-September 4 on the Olympic Circle in mostly lots of wind, except during a heat wave when there wasn't much wind at all. Brit Ed Wright emerged victorious, with Spaniard Rafael Trujillo in second. Though Ed won by a wide margin (31 points), the next few finishers were only separated by three points each. Great Britain also took third courtesy of Giles Scott, and 'our' man Zach Railey got fourth. Zach is from Florida, but sails for the St. Francis YC, which ran the regatta.
A 'village' was set up for the Gold Cup at Marina Bay Yacht Harbor in Richmond. And it took a village, as 87 sailors raced, representing 29 countries. For results, reports and video, see www.finngoldcup.com. For more of Sergei Zavarin's photos, see http://ultimate-yachtshots.smugmug.com.
