Eight Singlehanded TransPac boats now line the anchorage in Hanalei Bay, after Skip Allan’s Wildflower finished Monday morning, and Don Gray’s Warrior’s Wish came in that afternoon. Click here for video of Monday’s arrivals.
Four more are expected Tuesday: Haulback and Dream Chaser in the morning, Harrier in the afternoon, and Na Na (amazingly - after restarting twice) in the evening.
The Coast Guard, meanwhile, has ‘closed their case’ on Sparky, the Pearson Electra which Ruben Gabriel is sailing to Hawaii under jury-rig after dismasting Sunday morning. That means the CG feel that he is not in immediate danger, and it is up to him to make further contact if he should need assistance. Barbara Euser’s husband Dean has contacted the Coast Guard regarding her Islander’s Bristol 34’s silence - she has not checked in since July 22.
