There is an art to getting out the Gate in a strong flood. And the forty-seven boats that started on Friday in the Spinnaker Cup race to Monterey showed us the fine art of staying in favorable current while dodging rocks and bridge towers in light air. The race was one of the best for downhill conditions in many years, and we will have a report about the highlights and lowlights soon. If you raced, we'd love to hear how it went from your point of view, and how the new downwind ratings worked out.
