Photographer Erik Simonson sent us these photos of Sequoia Yacht Club’s Wednesday night beer can race last week. Located in Redwood City, Sequoia is close to Silicon Valley and enjoys warm temperatures. Racers get a wide variety of challenges from the narrow channel of Redwood Creek to the 6-ft rollers outside on the Bay. With an honor bar and grill your own dinners, the club is unpretentious and inexpensive. A lot of the race boats are typical racer/cruiser types, but as you can see, a Hobie 18 is welcome too.
