Chowder and GravlaX

April 2, 2013

Under gray skies and showers after the start, Berkeley Yacht Club concluded the 2013 Chowder Series on Easter Sunday with a spirited race. Gael Simon's X-402 GravlaX came home in first place on corrected time, a scant 31 seconds ahead of Bob Gunion's Olson 25 American Standard. Paul Weismann's Ranger 33 Mojo finished third to round out the podium.

American Standard took the season series with five wins followed by GravlaX with four and Megan Dwyer's Santana 22 Mad Max with three. What a great Chowder Series! This will give us some momentum heading into Friday night racing, starting this coming Friday.

The Berkeley Chowder Series begins in early October and ends, as you can see, at the end of March. Coming up this month at BYC, besides the Friday Night Races, is the Wheeler Regatta on April 13-14. For more info on all of the above, see www.berkeleyyc.org.
