Jack & Jill + 1

November 7, 2011

The predicted rain came and went before dawn on Sunday, leaving sunny but chilly conditions behind for Island YC's Jack & Jill + 1 triplehanded race on the Estuary.

Outsider
Greg Nelsen's Azzura 310 Outsider, helmed by Greg's girlfriend Kathryn Kade, didn't enter the race or take a "+1" along, but they finished first and got the gun. ©2011 norcalsailing.com

Although the wind was pretty good up near the windward mark, it was light deeper in the Estuary near the start-finish line, so the race committee shortened the double-sausage course after one lap around, making for a 3.9 nm race.
